About the position

As a Sr. UX Designer I at MetroStar Systems, you will leverage user-centered design principles to enhance the functionality and visual appeal of websites and mobile applications. This role involves collaborating with clients and team members to create modern, usable interfaces while maintaining a strong focus on branding and design principles. You will be responsible for leading user experience strategies and conducting user research to inform design decisions.

Responsibilities

• Design digital experiences that address agency missions.
• Lead interface and interaction design, including user experience strategy and information architecture.
• Integrate web, mobile, data, and emerging platforms into interconnected ecosystems.
• Participate in the Agile process, addressing various challenges.

Requirements

• Active Secret security clearance or higher.
• Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design or a related field.
• 5-7 years of experience with user interface design patterns and UCD methodologies.
• Experience gathering requirements from users and stakeholders, defining information architecture, and documenting user workflows.
• Experience performing user research and usability testing, and facilitating focus groups.
• Ability to translate information into UIs and interactions.
• Understanding of common software development and Agile practices.
• Experience creating User Stories and working with business analysts to develop acceptance criteria.
• Familiarity with various graphic design software packages.
• Experience designing wireframes, mockups, and prototypes, as well as visual design comps.
• Knowledge of visual design and wireframing/prototyping tools.
• Working knowledge of design patterns and pattern libraries.
• Experience with Section 508 compliance.
