About the position

The Senior UX Designer at PayPal will focus on crafting impactful and seamless experiences for developers and small businesses globally. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to shape decisions and deliver top-notch Developer Experiences, advocating for customer needs, and leveraging data and research to drive design concepts throughout the product development journey.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the proactive identification and resolution of complex customer problems by defining and addressing gaps in their journey.
  • Utilize insights to shape customer-centric product strategies, acting as a liaison between design, product management, and engineering teams.
  • Demonstrate mastery in design tools and techniques, setting and maintaining high standards.
  • Utilize design systems, style guides, patterns, and assets to craft intuitive and user-friendly experiences for developers.
  • Foster effective collaboration across teams and stakeholders, honing communication skills to articulate design rationales clearly and persuasively.
  • Drive organizational change by instigating improvements in workflows and advocating for user-centric design.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 5-7 years or Master's degree with 4-5 years of experience in design, research, or related fields.
  • Extensive experience designing products and platforms, including native apps, with a focus on both consumer and enterprise experiences.
  • Advanced proficiency with standard design and prototyping tools like Figma, Miro, Asana, and similar platforms.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams to ensure technical feasibility and translate customer requirements into data-driven hypotheses.
  • Exceptional communication skills to gather feedback from developers and articulate design concepts persuasively.
  • Extensive experience in working with cross-functional teams to facilitate the development and delivery of developer tools.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with coding and practical experience in computer science, software engineering, or a related field preferred.
