About the position

As a Senior UX/UI Specialist at American National, you will play a pivotal role in creating exceptional user experiences while also shaping and supporting the overall design vision for the organization. This position requires close collaboration with Product Managers, product owners, executive stakeholders, and cross-functional teams within a SAFe Agile environment. Your primary goal will be to ensure that design decisions align with business objectives, enhance brand identity, and drive competitive advantage in the market. You will be working in a supportive in-office environment located in Springfield, MO; League City, TX, or Galveston, TX. In this role, you will manage multiple moderate to complex projects and tasks simultaneously. You will work closely with the Product Manager and/or Product Owner to understand user needs, pain points, and goals. Conducting user research and usability testing will be essential, as you will gather insights to inform product design decisions using various qualitative and quantitative research methods. This includes competitive analysis, creating user personas, user/customer journey maps, conducting surveys, interviews, A/B testing, and leading workshops. You will also be responsible for creating wireframes and mock-ups to visualize the product's layout, navigation, and interactions. Collaboration with the Product Manager, Product Owner, and developers will be necessary to iterate on design concepts based on feedback, ensuring the product is usable by a diverse audience. Advocating for usability best practices and accessibility standards will be a key part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will provide coaching and mentoring to less experienced team members, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Four to six years of experience in UX/UI design.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, particularly with storytelling and establishing and advocating user points of view.
  • Experience communicating and presenting complex information to multiple levels of the organization.
  • Ability to make timely and independent decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of graphic design and interactive tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, InVision, etc.
  • Compelling portfolio that demonstrates clean designs and a strong process.
  • Experience with Agile and SAFe methodologies.
