About the position

As a Sr. Video Editor for Royal Caribbean Group, you will be immersed in a dynamic content production environment, contributing to the creative vision of the corporation. This role is situated within the Creative Hub, where you will be tasked with assembling and manipulating video footage, applying artistic editing techniques, and producing finished projects that meet the high standards of broadcast quality. The position demands a multi-faceted video editor who possesses exceptional storytelling skills and a strong grasp of social media trends, as you will be responsible for overseeing the entire post-production process. Your expertise in modern video editing techniques will be crucial, as you will need to visualize creative concepts and adhere to strict deadlines. A successful Sr. Video Editor will be able to translate ideas into visually stunning social content that is ready for publication across various channels. In addition to video editing, you may also be required to perform digital image retouching and graphic design tasks, showcasing your versatility in the creative field. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with an in-house team of copywriters, editors, producers, and content creators to ensure that the final product aligns with the overall creative strategy. This full-time position is based in the company's headquarters in Miami, FL, requiring in-office work from Monday to Thursday, with the option to work from home on Fridays.

Responsibilities

  • Manage projects, conventions, and processes
  • Perform complex video editing tasks such as adding graphics, special effects, and animations to edits
  • Manipulate film and video footage using modern editing techniques
  • Collaborate with the creative team to ensure cohesion between script and visual plan
  • Digitize, edit, and color correct footage using Adobe Premiere Pro, adding motion graphics and effects in Adobe After Effects
  • Review video assets after production to determine selects for team usage
  • Assist the visual designer with high-resolution digital retouching
  • Keep videos organized under our folder
  • Create master clips and encodes to multiple formats for distribution

Requirements

  • 2 - 5 years professional experience in video editing and image retouching
  • Portfolio of completed work
  • Cruise, travel, or hospitality environment preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Film or Media Arts preferred
  • Must have expert knowledge of editing processes on Adobe Premiere to ensure correct exports
  • Strong color management and color theory skill set required
  • Ability to tailor material for web delivery and distribution
  • Expert working knowledge of Photoshop, layers, masks, paths, color correction tools, actions, and non-destructive workflow
  • Expert working in Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects
  • Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Media Encoder is a plus
  • Understanding of current and emerging digital media formats, encoding schemes, and channels of distribution
  • Working knowledge of broadcast television, video production, interactive television, and non-linear editing
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to follow creative direction from senior team members and build upon creative ideas when needed
  • Meticulous attention to detail

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Media Encoder is a plus
