About the position

The Senior Visual Designer for Cloudscape at AWS will drive the visual language for AWS products, creating a consistent design foundation and reusable user interface components. This role involves collaborating with a diverse team to solve design challenges and enhance user experiences for a wide range of AWS customers.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain visual design artifacts such as high-fidelity mockups, flows and diagrams, illustrations, motion specifications, icons, and layouts.
• Help to define and advance the visual language of the Design System, including colors, typography, layout, illustration, iconography, and motion.
• Advocate for best practices in design execution within the team and the larger AWS design community.
• Lead the design of useful, usable, and desirable design patterns in a team environment, collaborating with leadership in design planning and goal creation.
• Understand customer needs through market analysis, customer research, and feedback.
• Facilitate the design process, presenting and iterating on design solutions.
• Craft, pitch, and validate long-term design strategies.
• Continually iterate and evolve the design process based on customer feedback.
• Mentor and develop designers within the organization.

Requirements

• 8+ years of design experience
• An available online portfolio
• Experience art directing motion designers, illustrators, writers, and content creators
• Experience in visual design demonstrated through design concepts, case studies, documentation, mockups, and style guides
• Experience partnering with technical partners for design implementation
• Knowledge of typographic and brand design principles
