About the position

As a Senior Visual Designer for Tesla's Industrial Energy Products, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the visual brand communications for the Industrial Energy growth and content team. This position demands a blend of creativity, design expertise, and innovative thinking across various design tasks, including photography and illustration. Your extensive design experience will be crucial in developing and designing assets that effectively communicate Tesla's visual style across multiple platforms, including marketing, sales, events, and web communications. In this multi-faceted role, while prior experience in the energy industry is highly desired, it is not a strict requirement. The ideal candidate will be highly creative, organized, and detail-oriented, with excellent communication skills. You will be expected to turn challenges into growth opportunities and demonstrate a proven ability to lead and motivate teams, both directly and indirectly. Your responsibilities will include collaborating cross-functionally with marketing managers, product managers, and sales teams to understand project goals and translate them into compelling visual content. You will also maintain and elevate the visual identity and brand standards across all existing marketing materials, ensuring consistency and quality in all design outputs. Additionally, you may occasionally participate in design efforts outside of your primary area of expertise, showcasing your versatility and willingness to contribute to the broader design initiatives within the company.

Responsibilities

• Develop and design assets for marketing, sales, events, communications, web, and other graphic design needs to communicate Tesla's visual style creatively.
• Work cross-functionally with marketing managers, product managers, and sales teams to understand project goals and translate them into compelling visual content.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to achieve design goals on physical assets when necessary.
• Maintain and elevate the visual identity and brand standards across all existing marketing materials.
• Occasionally participate in design efforts outside of your area of expertise.

Requirements

• Degree in Graphic Design or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of demonstrated experience in graphic design.
• A portfolio of work that reflects and demonstrates creative thinking, broad range, and modern, minimalist taste.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud Programs (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, etc.) and either Sketch or Figma.
• Excellence in creating and maintaining cross-functional working relationships and exceptional visual and oral communication skills.
• Technical knowledge of product development as it relates to graphic design (printing, web and mobile app development, formatting, etc.).
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple parallel-path projects and deliver successful designs under tight timing constraints.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in 3D modeling, visualization, motion graphics, animation, and/or illustration.
• Experience in creating visuals for the energy or technology sector.
