About the position

The Sr. Visual / UI Designer at Equinox will play a crucial role in creating exceptional digital products for members. This position involves collaboration across various teams to innovate and refine product designs, ensuring a seamless user experience across multiple platforms including apps, websites, and connected hardware. The designer will be responsible for the entire design process from ideation to development, focusing on elevating Equinox's digital design language and implementing best practices in design systems.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Product Strategy, Research, and Engineers to ideate and validate designs.
  • Design cross-platform experiences for App, Website, Wearables, and Connected Hardware.
  • Manage projects from ideation to development, including concepting, wireframes, and final visual design.
  • Elevate Equinox's digital design language and design system.
  • Solve complex design challenges throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Present design concepts and communicate design thinking effectively.
  • Anticipate user needs and align design solutions with business goals.
  • Prototype designs for interactivity and user testing, incorporating micro animations.
  • Evolve the existing design system and communicate updates across the design team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Experience Design, UI/UX design, or related field.
  • 6 years of relevant work experience in UI design, visual design, or product design.
  • Exceptional visual design skills and a passion for design.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing digital product and interaction design.
  • Ability to articulate design thinking from a user-centric perspective.
  • Experience using quantitative and qualitative research to inform design decisions.
  • Mastery of Figma and experience with design systems.
  • Superior typography skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in interaction, motion design, and micro animations.
  • Knowledge of After Effects, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in tech, fitness, luxury fashion, or service-driven brands.
  • Ability to teach Figma to others.
  • Interest in evolving design practices with new technology.
