About the position

The Sr. Water Resource Specialist is a contract position focused on project management within the water resources sector. This role requires extensive experience in policy development, resource negotiations, and the implementation of solutions to complex water-related problems. The specialist will oversee project activities, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standards while providing technical support and guidance to team members and external representatives.

Responsibilities

• Oversee activities related to water resource management, including budget development and monitoring.
• Serve as a project team member or leader for major projects involving capital improvements and joint ventures.
• Ensure project resources meet cost and efficiency standards.
• Draft and review approval documents and environmental reviews for compliance with standards and regulations.
• Participate in negotiations to secure reliable water supplies at cost-effective terms.
• Provide technical support to division employees and external representatives to ensure compliance with guidelines and policies.
• Assign work, provide training, and help build an effective team to meet organizational goals.

Requirements

• 8 years of progressively responsible experience in policy development, project management, and resource negotiations.
• Knowledge of production cost modeling techniques and transmission planning principles.
• Experience with electric rate analysis and renewable energy project development.
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Environmental Sciences, Urban Planning, Geology, Geography, Hydrology, or a related field.
