About the position

The Sr. Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Reliability, Maintenance and Engineering (RME) Program Manager will support and partner with the North America Reliability & Maintenance Engineering regions or programs. This role involves collaborating with technical subject matter experts to enhance WHS standards and procedures, managing RME-related WHS programs, and overseeing safety processes. The position requires strong stakeholder engagement and a focus on continuous improvement in safety practices across the network.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with stakeholders to drive Safety Ownership and customer obsession.
  • Establish incident investigation, escalation, and reporting structures for timely notifications and root cause analysis.
  • Address or escalate field and leadership concerns to relevant stakeholders.
  • Communicate network alerts and actions effectively, ensuring sites can seek clarifications and track completion.
  • Review incidents to determine the need for WHS Alerts or RME Safety Network Actions and guide content development through WHS Communications.
  • Collaborate with equipment OEMs and engineering teams on incidents requiring design or retrofit solutions.
  • Become a subject matter expert in Amazon's Contract Risk Management program and ensure compliance with WHS policies.
  • Continuously improve NA WHS program requirements related to RME.
  • Support RME Leadership in enhancing technician engagement and ownership of safety issues.
  • Utilize Safety Climate Network results to identify gaps in RME culture and drive improvements in safety culture.
  • Maintain the RME Portal for safety communications.
  • Support WHS governance and compliance organizations in evaluating regulatory misses for corrective action.
  • Stay updated on changing regulations and internal WHS performance to adjust policies as needed.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience
  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements
  • Experience owning program strategy and communicating results to senior leadership
  • Bachelor's Degree in Safety, Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of 5+ years' work experience in Safety, Engineering, Reliability, or related field.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5+ years of driving process improvements experience
  • Masters Degree in Safety, Safety Engineering, Engineering, or related field
  • Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
