About the position

We are seeking an SRE Engineer for our team based in Fort Worth, Texas. In this role, you'll be instrumental in guiding and facilitating our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams to deliver reliable and scalable solutions that optimize the performance and uptime of our production systems. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and facilitate ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives to assist SRE teams in achieving their goals.
  • Focus on incident management, problem resolution, and reliability improvement by aligning SRE activities with Agile methodologies.
  • Identify and remove impediments or blockers that could hinder the team's progress.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators related to system reliability and team productivity, reporting these metrics to stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across SRE processes by leveraging feedback from retrospectives and performance data.
  • Collaborate closely with SRE engineers, product owners, and stakeholders to align team work with organizational goals.
  • Advocate for SRE best practices such as monitoring, alerting, automation, and system health reviews to ensure system stability and availability.
  • Coordinate and facilitate post-incident reviews, ensuring teams identify and implement action items to prevent future occurrences.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Python and Java programming languages
  • Extensive knowledge of Cloud Technologies including AWS Technologies and Microsoft Azure
  • Experience with Agile Scrum methodology
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Ability to negotiate and manage relationships with stakeholders
  • Proven track record of driving progress and improving productivity
  • Background in engineering and implementing best practices
  • Experience with metric and KPI reporting
  • Ability to create and understand technical specifications
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment
  • Degree in Computer Sciences or a related field
  • Familiarity with R code and laptop hardware
  • Knowledge of monitoring tools
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and personal development.
