About the position

The Senior Reactor Operator position at WECTEC Staffing Services is a contract role focused on utilizing extensive knowledge and skills in Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs) for both new plant designs and the existing operating PWR fleet. The role involves collaboration with internal teams and customers to develop and update operational procedures for various nuclear reactor designs, including the AP1000 and the new generation of reactors like the AP300 SMR and eVinci microreactor. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence the operation of nuclear power plants worldwide, leveraging over 20 years of experience in the field.

Responsibilities

• Develop and update NOPs, AOPs, EOPs, FSGs, and other related documents for the operating fleet including the AP1000.
• Create plant operation and operating procedures for the Westinghouse eVinci™ Micro Reactor and AP300 Small Modular Reactor designs.
• Collaborate with new plant designers and licensed reactor operators to define safe operational practices for nuclear plants.
• Apply integrated plant operations knowledge to enhance control room operations and procedures.
• Validate various scenarios in control room simulators for training reactor operators.

Requirements

• 20+ years of experience as a licensed Reactor Operator or Senior Reactor Operator in a Commercial Nuclear Power Plant (PWR).
• Held a Senior Reactor Operator License for a Power Reactor in the past 5 years or has been an active Operating Procedure Writer for a Power Reactor in the past 5 years.
• Detailed knowledge of PWR operation, systems, components, and procedures is required.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or have permanent resident status.
