About the position

The Controller for SS&C's Health will oversee financial operations, reporting, and compliance, partnering closely with senior management to drive data-informed decisions and optimize financial performance. This role involves managing end-to-end accounting processes, strategic planning, and team leadership, with a focus on operational efficiency in a dynamic industry environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage financial reporting processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery for Health.
  • Direct month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, adhering to GAAP, IFRS, and internal policies.
  • Monitor internal controls, safeguarding assets and ensuring the integrity of financial statements.
  • Participate in budgeting and forecasting processes, driving alignment with business goals and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Provide comprehensive performance insights to senior leadership on budget variances, metrics, and strategic optimization.
  • Collaborate with peers, directs, and business leader partners to develop financial strategy, analyze business development, and identify growth opportunities.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance by implementing sound financial practices and addressing audit findings.
  • Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals, promoting continuous improvement, accountability, and team excellence.
  • Cultivate a culture of innovation and adaptability, especially in response to changes such as systems integration and digital workers.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; CPA or MBA preferred
  • 10+ years of financial experience, including 3-5 years in a senior finance role within the healthcare industry
  • Strong working knowledge and experience with revenue recognition (ASC 606)
  • Exceptional communicator and collaborator
  • Proven track record of relationship-building with peers, directs, and business leader partners
