About the position

The SSBO Wax Cleaner position is responsible for preparing wax patterns for assembly or finishing after the molding process. This role involves cleaning, modifying, inspecting, serializing, and repairing wax patterns to meet quality standards. The position requires attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols while working with various tools and materials to ensure the integrity of complex patterns.

Responsibilities

• Complete cleaning and dimensional restoration on complex patterns to meet visual and dimensional specifications.
• Remove and repair surface irregularities using hand tools and materials.
• Fill or patch negatives using paint wax, melted stock wax, and other tools.
• Modify patterns with various hand tools and wax materials.
• Inspect work for compliance with quality standards and perform rework as necessary.
• Stamp serial numbers into patterns or use wax pads for identification.
• Repair broken or damaged patterns and cores to restore them to acceptable conditions.
• Safely operate all equipment and tools while adhering to safety rules.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and meet production and quality standards.
• Train less skilled personnel as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to read, follow, and interpret written instructions on technique cards and code sheets.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic mathematical calculation skills (addition, subtraction).
• Ability to use simple to moderately complex measuring devices and fixtures.
• Physical ability to perform essential job functions.
