About the position

The SSC HR Generalist position at Tractor Supply Company is a pivotal role that partners with the Director of HR at the Store Support Center to embody and promote the company's Mission and Values. This position is designed to deliver comprehensive HR support that aligns with operational goals and enhances performance across the business. The HR Generalist will engage in a variety of HR functions, including onboarding, team member relations, policy interpretation, project management, and HR consulting. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and effective communication to ensure that HR initiatives are successfully implemented and that team members feel supported and valued. In this role, the HR Generalist will maintain strong working relationships with all Store Support Center team members, ensuring adherence to Tractor Supply Company's policies. They will provide guidance and counsel on a range of HR issues to both team members and managers, facilitating a collaborative and supportive work environment. The HR Generalist will also partner with HR Shared Services to address and resolve any team member issues related to payroll and benefits, ensuring that all concerns are handled promptly and effectively. The position involves conducting regular check-ins with new hires, facilitating training sessions, and supporting the succession planning and talent review processes. The HR Generalist will play a key role in the year-end compensation and promotion processes, ensuring that all changes are processed accurately and in a timely manner. Additionally, they will analyze turnover data, conduct exit interviews, and maintain the team member recognition program, all while ensuring compliance with federal and state employment laws to mitigate legal risks. Overall, the SSC HR Generalist is responsible for fostering a positive workplace culture, enhancing employee engagement, and driving HR initiatives that support the company's strategic objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain strong working relationships with all SSC team members and adhere to all TSC policies.
  • Provide guidance and counsel on a variety of issues to Store Support Team Members and Managers.
  • Partner with HR Shared Services to respond to and resolve Team Member issues related to payroll and benefits.
  • Address and resolve sensitive Team Member relations issues in partnership with the Dir, HR - Store Support Center.
  • Facilitate team member trainings as requested by Dir, HR - Store Support Center.
  • Conduct 30 day check-ins with all new hires.
  • Identify themes and suggest solutions for improvement in onboarding and new hire process.
  • Support the Dir, HR - Store Support Center in the Succession Planning and Talent Review process by providing talent review materials and facilitation support during calibration meetings.
  • Support the year-end compensation and promotion process.
  • Request all ADP changes and ensure they are processed accurately and on time.
  • Schedule and facilitate exit interviews, analyze turnover data and recommend solutions for implementation.
  • Maintain and coordinate team member recognition program.
  • Support the Dir, HR - Store Support Center in the employee engagement survey efforts by analyzing results and facilitating focus groups.
  • Partner with external immigration firm to manage Visa and PERM process.
  • Complete ad hoc projects as assigned by the Dir, HR - Store Support Center.
  • Maintain expert knowledge of federal and state employment laws, reducing legal risks and ensuring compliance.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Human Resources experience preferably in a HR Generalist position.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to multi-task and problem solve in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or any related field.
  • Professional Certifications: PHR preferred.
