About the position
The SSDS CSSQT Engineer will serve as an expert member of the Ship's Self Defense System (SSDS) team, providing technical support and coordination for various combat systems assessments and training. This role involves testing and evaluating combat system elements on different ship classes, ensuring operational effectiveness, and preparing technical presentations for military and civilian leadership.
Responsibilities
- Serve as an expert member of the SSDS team supporting In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA) tasking.
- Provide technical support for Combat Systems Assessments and Training (CSAT), Combat Systems Ship Qualifications and Training (CSSQT), and other related testing.
- Participate in tests on land-based systems and shipboard systems during in-port and underway periods.
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations and generate written reports for military and civilian leadership.
- Communicate effectively with program offices, shipyards, and contractors.
- Assist in providing answers to data calls.
Requirements
- 5-7 years of knowledge and experience with Ship's Self Defense Systems, including RAM, NSSMS, ESSM, CDLMS, and BFTT.
- Experience troubleshooting electronic components is a plus.
- Knowledge of UNIX based system language is highly desired.
- High School Graduate/GED or Technical School Graduate; Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field is preferred.
