About the position

The SSHO (Site Safety and Health Officer) will be responsible for ensuring the overall health and safety of employees on construction projects, specifically overseeing a dredging project. This role requires adherence to the EM 385-1-1 Army Corps of Engineers Standards and OSHA regulations, ensuring that all work is performed safely and in compliance with established standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the health and safety of employees on construction projects.
• Ensure compliance with EM 385-1-1 Army Corps of Engineers Standards.
• Monitor and enforce OSHA regulations on-site.
• Write and maintain safety reports for the project.
• Conduct safety training and briefings for workers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of health and safety experience in construction, preferably in dredging.
• Knowledge of current Army Corps (EM-385-1-1) and OSHA regulations.
• Certification in OSHA 500, OSHA 501, or OSHA 30.
• Ability to write detailed safety reports.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in marine and levy construction projects.
