About the position

We are looking for a talented SSIS Developer to design, develop, and implement complex ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) solutions using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS). The SSIS Developer will be responsible for creating data integration workflows, ensuring efficient data movement, and supporting business intelligence and analytics efforts. This role requires a strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to meet business goals. The SSIS Developer will engage in ETL development, which includes designing, developing, and maintaining SSIS packages to extract, transform, and load data from various sources such as SQL Server, Oracle, flat files, and APIs into data warehouses or other target systems. Performance tuning is a critical aspect of this role, as the developer will need to optimize SSIS packages to ensure efficient data processing, minimize data load times, and improve overall performance. In addition to ETL development, the SSIS Developer will implement complex data transformations, cleansing, and integration processes to ensure data accuracy and consistency. Troubleshooting and debugging are also essential responsibilities, as the developer will monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve any issues related to SSIS jobs and data workflows. Collaboration with database administrators, data analysts, and other stakeholders is necessary to gather requirements and ensure alignment with business goals. The developer will also be responsible for creating and maintaining documentation for ETL processes, data mappings, and workflows, as well as scheduling SSIS packages using SQL Server Agent and managing automated ETL workflows. Ensuring data quality and integrity by implementing error handling, logging, and validation mechanisms in SSIS packages is also a key responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain SSIS packages to extract, transform, and load data from various sources to data warehouses or other target systems.
  • Optimize SSIS packages to ensure efficient data processing, minimize data load times, and improve overall performance.
  • Implement complex data transformations, cleansing, and integration processes to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve any issues related to SSIS jobs and data workflows.
  • Work closely with database administrators, data analysts, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Create and maintain documentation for ETL processes, data mappings, and workflows.
  • Schedule SSIS packages using SQL Server Agent and manage automated ETL workflows.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity by implementing error handling, logging, and validation mechanisms in SSIS packages.

Requirements

  • Strong experience in developing, deploying, and managing SSIS packages.
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL Server, including writing complex queries, stored procedures, and triggers.
  • Experience with other ETL tools is a plus (e.g., Informatica, Talend).
  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and star/snowflake schema design.
  • Experience in optimizing SSIS packages for performance and efficiency.
  • Ability to implement logging, event handling, and error-handling strategies in SSIS.
  • Familiarity with version control systems like Git or TFS for managing SSIS package versions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in developing SSIS packages and ETL workflows.
  • Experience with SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) is a plus.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms like Azure Data Factory or AWS Glue is advantageous.
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate or similar certifications are a plus.
