About the position
The Stable & Facility Operations position at RFK Community Alliance involves providing direct animal care and performing various maintenance tasks to ensure the Therapeutic Horsemanship Center is safe, well-maintained, and presentable. The role requires a reliable individual with experience in equestrian care and facility maintenance, contributing to the overall operational needs of the facility.
Responsibilities
- Perform assigned responsibilities, duties, and tasks according to established practices, procedures, and standards safely with minimal supervision.
- Provide daily care to the equines and small animals, including feeding and maintaining the stall/barn cleanliness.
- Complete seasonal projects.
- Complete repairs and maintenance projects.
- Maintain grounds including lawn mowing, trimming, edging, and general facility upkeep.
- Complete regular preventative maintenance tasks and inspections.
- Assist with snow removal.
- Receive animal feed, hay, shavings, and other related products.
- Manage loading, unloading, and storing supplies.
- Communicate with trade vendors to coordinate the delivery of bulk products.
- Collaborate with the Building and Grounds Department as needed to coordinate services and support as needed to meet the operational needs of the facility.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3+ years of experience working on an equestrian facility or working farm.
- 3+ years' experience as a maintenance worker or similar position.
- Experience working with landscaping equipment and proficient in the use of hand and power tools.
- Strong critical thinking skills.
- Valid driver's license.
