Staff Accountant, Customer Operations Accounting

As a member of the Comcast Global Accounting Organization, this role will be responsible for accounting and analysis related to various Customer Operations GL accounts. Responsibilities include preparation of schedules to support accruals, quarterly financial statement analysis, journal entries and various account reconciliations.

Responsibilities

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Effective communication, organizational and analytical skills
• Team player with strong interpersonal skills
• Interprets accounting data, analyzes reports and recommends action to be taken
• Prepares financial reports analyzing data for management review
• Ensures the balance sheet accounts are accurately stated based on compiled reconciliation procedures and agreement with source documents
• Enters monthly journal entries to properly record accounting transactions, ensuring that journal entries have proper back up to substantiate the entry
• Reviews financial statements for operating trends and results
• Develops automated Oracle routines such as mass allocations and re-occurring journal entries
• Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance
• Regular, consistent and punctual attendance
• Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (Required)
• 2-5 Years of relative work experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical thinking skills
• Experience with accounting journal entries and accruals
• Ability to analyze balance sheets and perform variance analysis
