About the position

The Staff Accountant at Union Savings Bank is responsible for providing comprehensive accounting services to bank personnel across various financial areas, including general ledger management, fixed assets, securities, accounts payable, and financial reporting. This role involves preparing accounting entries, monitoring daily cash flow, and assisting in regulatory reporting, ensuring timely and accurate financial operations.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare daily and monthly accounting entries.
  • Monitor daily cash position and prepare wire forms and cash packages.
  • Account for corporate credit cards, including user management and processing accruals.
  • Assist with month-end closing entries and reconciliations.
  • Post monthly securities payments and manage securities activity.
  • Support the ALM Manager with quarterly interest rate risk reporting.
  • Maintain fixed asset database and coordinate inventories.
  • Assist with the preparation of quarterly FDIC Call & FRY-9 reports.
  • Help prepare annual audited consolidated financial statements.
  • Perform monthly inventory of check supplies and assist with accounts payable.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • 1-2 years of accounting and banking experience preferred.
