About the position

The Staff Accountant position is a key role within an employee-owned company, focusing on various accounting functions including accounts receivable, payroll processing, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment and will be responsible for ensuring compliance with financial regulations while maintaining accurate financial records. This hybrid role requires three days a week onsite in Albany, Oregon.

Responsibilities

• Assist with various accounting functions, including accounts receivable, bank and general ledger reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.
• Support bi-weekly payroll processing ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines for timesheets and deductions.
• Collaborate with departments to maintain accurate financial records and assist with month-end closing procedures and audits.
• Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws, while managing payroll data accuracy and confidentiality.
• Learn new SOP system and serve as subject matter expert (SME) / participate in cross-training team members.

Requirements

• Associate degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field.
• Strong knowledge of month end close activities and GL functions (debits/credits, journal entries, reconciliations).
• Proficiency with ERP systems (NetSuite, Oracle, or similar) and intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
• Team-oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Deadline-driven with strong attention to detail and effective problem-solving abilities.
