About the position

The Staff Accountant II position at Oatey is responsible for supporting the business through timely and accurate financial reporting and analysis. This role assists the Accounting Manager and the corporate accounting and finance team with daily responsibilities and projects, including supporting the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes by creating journal entries and preparing reconciliations.

Responsibilities

• Execute Finance projects with emphasis on rebate and commissions calculations and accruals.
• Assist with general ledger maintenance and financial reporting system, including analyzing and reconciling accounts.
• Prepare monthly balance sheets, income statements, and cost center statements.
• Perform accounting duties related to cash management, bank compliance, and account reconciliation.
• Respond to inquiries and interface with other departments regarding financial transactions.
• Support management in preparing and reviewing internal budgeted and forecasted financial statements.
• Assist in preparing documents for externally reviewed financial statements, tax returns, insurance renewals, and audits.
• Participate in payroll processing and reporting.

Requirements

• 2 to 3 years' experience in a related corporate accounting role
• Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA or other ERP systems
• Prior experience with 3rd party reporting software
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• PC Computer Proficiency: Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint
• Ability to multitask and prioritize
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent relevant experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Working knowledge of SAP (ideally S/4 HANA)
