About the position
The Staff Accountant at Systecon LLC will play a crucial role in managing various accounting functions within the company, which specializes in manufacturing industrial HVAC modular plants. This position is essential for ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance, particularly in a manufacturing environment focused on project cost accounting.
Responsibilities
- Perform general accounting duties, including journal entries, account reconciliations and maintain the general ledger.
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, cash flow and budget variance reports.
- Provide support during annual audit review.
- Oversee sales and use tax reporting, compliance and other regulatory requirements. Knowledge of Avalara is a plus.
- Manage cash disbursements and receipts, in addition to monthly bank reconciliation.
- Perform bi-weekly payroll entry and processing.
- Other duties as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Accounting, preferably in manufacturing, with an emphasis on project cost accounting, WIP, POC and revenue recognition.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
- Proficiency with accounting software; experience with an ERP system preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive and independent work ethic, with a passion for continuous learning and process improvement.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with a positive attitude.
