About the position

We are seeking a diligent Staff Accountant to join our team in Houston, Texas. This role involves performing advanced accounting tasks, preparing financial statements, conducting financial analysis, and managing general ledger accounts, all while ensuring regulatory compliance and supporting the financial strategy of our organization.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Conduct detailed financial analysis to support decision-making processes.
• Prepare and review budget vs. actual reports and provide variance analysis.
• Assist in the preparation of tax filings and regulatory reports.
• Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data through regular audits and reviews.
• Assist in month-end and year-end close processes.
• Assist in the preparation and monitoring of annual budgets and forecasts.
• Oversee and ensure timely processing of invoices and payments.
• Monitor accounts receivable balances and follow up on outstanding accounts.
• Implement and maintain effective cash flow management practices.
• Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard the company's assets.
• Assist in internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting function.
• Implement best practices in accounting and financial reporting.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP)
• Demonstrable experience in managing Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Proficiency in performing Bank Reconciliations
• Familiarity with General Ledger maintenance
• Experience in preparing and recording Journal Entries
• Ability to carry out Month End Close activities
• Proficiency in using NetSuite accounting software
• Knowledge of Intercompany Accounting is required.
