About the position

The Staff Accountant position involves compiling and analyzing financial data to prepare entries for various general ledger accounts and documenting business transactions. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate financial reports and collaborating with project managers to ensure accurate project costing and financial projections.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and maintaining financial reports such as balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other summaries to reflect the company's current and projected financial position.
• Analyzing yard cost and evaluating job cost to collaborate with project managers on accurate estimates at completion for current yard projects.
• Assisting with time entry and accounts payable invoices as needed.
• Helping with invoicing of projects.
• Gathering requested data from auditors.
• Preparing sales tax returns.

Requirements

• A bachelor degree in accounting is required.
• A minimum of 2 years of accounting experience is preferred.
• Hands-on experience with general ledger (GL) functions, balance sheet and income statement preparation, fixed asset tracking, and project costing is preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly MS Excel.
• Experience with Oracle is a plus.
