About the position

The Staff Accountant position at Robert Half involves a variety of accounting tasks aimed at maintaining the financial integrity of a manufacturing organization. Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data related to manufacturing operations.
  • Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts, particularly those associated with inventory and cost of goods sold.
  • Assist in the analysis and reporting of manufacturing costs, including labor, materials, and overhead.
  • Help prepare and maintain cost standards, ensuring accurate job costing and variance analysis.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports, including those specific to manufacturing operations.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, analyzing variances and providing insights.
  • Support the accounts payable process, including invoice verification and payment processing for suppliers and vendors.
  • Oversee the accounts receivable cycle, including invoicing, collections, and cash application.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements related to manufacturing.
  • Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in accounting or a similar role, preferably within the manufacturing industry.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing accounting software (e.g., Sage, ERP systems) is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including advanced functions, formulas, and data analysis).
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and reporting standards specific to manufacturing.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
