About the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join an outstanding accounting team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining our financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization. This position requires a strong understanding of general ledger accounting, cash flow analysis, and financial statement preparation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and maintenance of financial statements and reports.
• Manage general ledger accounting, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Conduct cash flow analysis to ensure optimal liquidity and financial stability.
• Utilize financial software for bookkeeping and reporting purposes.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
• Perform financial auditing to ensure compliance.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, checks and balances.
• Analyze debits and credits to maintain accurate records.
• Utilize accounting software for data analysis and reporting.
• Collaborate with Controller on corporate accounting tasks and projects.
• Work with project managers on billing accuracy.

Requirements

• 2-year degree or equivalent experience year for year accounting experience working in the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting principles.
• Experience with cash flow analysis and financial statement preparation.
• Proficiency in financial software such as Sage, Netsuite or QuickBooks is a plus.
• Solid understanding of debits and credits in accounting practices.
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members.
