About the position

Part of a dynamic and high-performing team, Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting full-cycle accounts payable process and all connected accounting functions - prepaids, fixed assets and accrued liabilities. The position manages automated platforms and works with business partners to implement and monitor performance of internal control and operational efficiencies. As the team implements a new automated Accounts Payable software, Staff Accountant will play a key role in developing and implementing procurement best practices and procedures throughout the entire organization.

Responsibilities

  • Drive standardization and process improvements within the Procure-to-Pay cycle that focuses on internal controls and efficiencies within the Accounts Payable function and provide cross-functional solutions to assist in timely issue resolution.
  • Support the full-cycle automated accounts payable process that includes vendor set up, payment processing and data integration/record input procedures.
  • Maintain fixed assets accounting software including processing additions, disposals, and monitoring construction-in-progress.
  • Identify prepaid invoices and maintain prepaids reconciliation.
  • Coordinate T&E expense and P-card processes, including user set up and reimbursement through expense management software.
  • Assist with month-end closing processes (accruals and prepaids) and provide support during audits.

Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting or related field required
  • 2-5 years of experience in accounting or operational finance role with medium size company, preferably in manufacturing or construction industry
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel, Word, and other products in Microsoft suite.
  • Experience working with integrated ERP platform
  • Strong interpersonal skills and expertise to work collaboratively across functional and organizational teams
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize different deliverables and think outside the box
