About the position

The Staff Accountant position at Robert Half involves managing a variety of accounting tasks within a growing energy company. This hybrid role is crucial for maintaining the financial operations of the organization, including overseeing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial reports. The accountant will collaborate closely with the corporate accounting department and the CFO to ensure compliance with GAAP and support the overall financial health of the company.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily financial activities for the residential solar division, including the management of accounts payable and receivable.
• Support the monthly and annual closing of the books, ensuring all financial activities are accurately recorded and reported.
• Work closely with the CFO to reconcile accounts and maintain GAAP activities within the ledger.
• Prepare financial reports and conduct variance analysis, providing commentary where necessary.
• Assist with the preparation and compliance of tax documents.
• Collaborate on the improvement of systems and processes within the accounting department.
• Provide support to other departments, offering accounting expertise as needed.
• Audit financial records periodically to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities as required.
• Contribute to the organization and execution of day-to-day accounting functions.
• Assist with activities related to the integration of company books.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar position
• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Ability to perform Bank Reconciliations accurately and efficiently
• Demonstrated experience with General Ledger maintenance
• Familiarity with preparing and analyzing Journal Entries
• Experience in managing Month End Close procedures
• Proficiency in the use of NetSuite and QuickBooks accounting software
