About the position

As a Staff Accountant at Contryman Associates, P.C., you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of financial data for our clients. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who enjoys working with numbers and is passionate about delivering excellence in accounting services. You will collaborate closely with in-charge accountants to ensure the timely and accurate completion of assigned tasks, which will include preparing and reviewing bookkeeping for clients, analyzing financial data, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. In addition to client accounting, you will be responsible for preparing tax returns for both individuals and businesses. This will involve ensuring accurate data entry, compliance with tax codes, and identifying tax-saving opportunities for our clients. You will also assist in the preparation of monthly and yearly attest engagements, showcasing your attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. As you develop your technical knowledge, you will perform specific tax preparation and audit responsibilities assigned to you, demonstrating your commitment to continuous learning and growth. Business development is another key aspect of this role, as you will be expected to develop associations and contribute to the growth of our firm through engagement in various business development activities. Your verbal and written communication skills will be essential for effective collaboration and client interactions, and you will need to display proficient knowledge of general office and accounting software. Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review bookkeeping for clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Prepare tax returns for individuals and businesses, ensuring accurate data entry and compliance with tax codes.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly and yearly attest engagements, showcasing attention to detail.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
  • Work towards passing or have already passed the CPA exam.
  • At least three (3) years' experience in public accounting, showcasing a progression in attest complexity, scope, and research.
