About the position

The Staff Accountant plays a crucial role in the Finance department by assisting with various financial tasks, including the preparation of financial statements, account reconciliation, and financial data analysis. This position ensures accuracy and compliance with regulations while supporting budgeting and forecasting processes.

Responsibilities

• Utilize accounting software systems to prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
• Provide support for budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Assist with tax preparation and filing and stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies or issues identified during the reconciliation process.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards to safeguard company assets and maintain integrity in financial reporting.
• Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation, explanations, and support as requested.
• Perform additional tasks as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in accounting, finance or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in accounting or related field.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Experience with accounting software (NetSuite is a plus).
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet targeted deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Requires proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English.

Nice-to-haves

• Public accounting experience (Pursuing a CPA is a plus but not required).
