About the position
We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Port Chester, New York. This role is essential in managing large data sets, ensuring accurate financial records, and resolving financial inquiries, while collaborating closely with other departments to facilitate smooth financial operations.
Responsibilities
- Accurately process and post cash receipts and disbursements for operating bank accounts.
- Monitor and report on incoming wire and ACH payments for facilitating order processing.
- Handle customer queries regarding payments and provide prompt responses.
- Undertake the daily reconciliation of e-commerce sales and post revenue accordingly.
- Prepare accrual journal entries and maintain related schedules on a monthly basis.
- Perform monthly reconciliation of revenue for the period.
- Create allocation journal entries for merchant fees and manage prepaid rents schedule.
- Prepare rent expense journal entries and report any variances.
- Post deferral of monthly royalty fees.
- Assist with lease accounting and ad-hoc projects as needed.
Requirements
- Possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar position
- Proficient in Bank Reconciliations
- Demonstrated experience with NetSuite software
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
- Holds a degree in Accounting or a related field
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports
- Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Ability to meet tight deadlines
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
