About the position

The Staff Accountant position at Robert Half focuses on maintaining accurate financial data and ensuring timely delivery of accounting information within the Real Estate Property/Facilities Management industry. The role requires a detail-oriented individual to manage P&L analysis, bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and month-end close activities. The Staff Accountant will also prepare reports, conduct audits, and assist with the budget process, all while working remotely from the greater Houston area.

Responsibilities

  • Reconcile sub-ledgers to the general ledger and maintain monthly journal entries
  • Assist in the month-end close and consolidation process
  • Verify the accuracy of financial data and correct any errors
  • Collaborate with other team members on the preparation and maintenance of financial records
  • Examine and review unusual cost records to ensure correct data allocation
  • Record and review multi-entity billing and assist in the audit of forecast data
  • Monitor collection efforts in compliance with Debtor and Collection policies
  • Prepare and analyze cost reports and conduct costing audits
  • Assist with the preparation of balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports
  • Review monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accurate and timely preparation and resolution of reconciling items.

Requirements

  • Must possess skills in Month-end Close Activities
  • Proficient in preparing Journal Entries
  • Experience in Account Reconciliation is essential
  • Ability to perform Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation
  • Must have experience in Bank Reconciliations
  • Adept at Variance Analysis
  • Proficiency in using NetSuite is required
  • Must have relevant experience in Real Estate Property/Facilities Management
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to accounting and taxation
  • Professional certification such as CPA is an advantage
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail in work
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information.
