About the position

The Staff Accountant position at Robert Half involves managing various accounting tasks for a retail and distribution company in North Denver. The role focuses on accounts receivable, invoice creation, expense report verification, and assisting with financial reporting and audits. This position is essential for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the company's financial operations.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, posts, verifies, and records customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable.
• Creates invoices according to company practices; submits invoices to customers.
• Maintains and updates customer files, including name or address changes, mergers, or mailing attentions.
• Processes customer credit card payments.
• Receives and verifies expense reports; reconciles expense and other financial reports with account balances and other office records.
• Creates check runs for AP Payments as well as pays vendors by credit cards.
• Calculates and reports use tax based on paid invoices.
• Enters general ledger entries.
• Conducts daily bank reconciliations.
• Assists with the weekly borrowing base reporting.
• Assists with external auditors to gather information upon request.
• Assists with month end and year end close.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
• 1+ years of accounting experience
