About the position

The Staff Accountant position is an entry-level role within the Building Products Accounting team at NVR, located in Frederick, MD. This team supports various operations including Manufacturing, Architectural Services, and Procurement across ten manufacturing plants. The role involves a high degree of responsibility in a fast-paced environment, focusing on financial statement preparation, analysis, and reconciliation.

Responsibilities

• Review, analyze, reconcile, and update financial statements and management reports for NVR Building Products.
• Prepare and review financial statements, including journal entries.
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including inventory balances and fixed assets.
• Independently prepare and review internal management reports for accuracy and completeness.
• Communicate with operating department personnel to obtain explanations and support for account balances.
• Price and cost house packages, including new homes and changes to existing homes.
• Calculate and collect rebates, reviewing contracts to ensure earned rebates are collected.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 2+ years of relevant work experience preferred
• Strong accuracy and attention to detail
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively on a fast-paced team in a professional environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office products.
