About the position

The Staff Accountant position at Robert Half in Knoxville, Tennessee, is a critical role within the finance department. The individual will be responsible for maintaining financial records, processing transactions, and producing financial reports. This position requires a detail-oriented approach and proficiency in various accounting functions, including Accounts Payable, Bank Reconciliations, and Month End Close processes.

Responsibilities

• Handle the accounting requirements for three locations
• Oversee and manage accounts payable
• Conduct daily deposits and ensure they are accurately recorded
• Prepare and record journal entries in the general ledger
• Carry out month-end close processes efficiently
• Prepare year-end statements for clients
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer credit records
• Process customer credit applications with precision and efficiency
• Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate actions when necessary.

Requirements

• Possess a minimum of one year of experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar position
• Proficient in Accounts Payable (AP)
• Experience in Bank Reconciliations
• Familiarity with General Ledger management
• Ability to prepare and maintain Journal Entries
• Experience in Month End Close procedures
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is a plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
