About the position

The Staff Accountant position at Robert Half involves supporting financial operations for local clients in Woodland Hills, CA. This position reports to the Senior Accountant or Manager and plays a vital role in the annual budgeting process, tax return preparation, and support during audits.

Responsibilities

• Support the annual budgeting process and assist in the development of financial forecasts.
• Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
• Provide support during internal and external audits, including preparing schedules and gathering documentation.
• Address auditor inquiries and ensure all necessary documentation is available.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA certification preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in public accounting, focusing on auditing and taxation, preferably in a CPA firm environment.
• Strong technical accounting skills and proficiency in financial statement preparation, auditing procedures, and tax compliance.
• Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and audit tools (e.g., Caseware, IDEA) preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong client relationships.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Commitment to upholding professional standards, ethics, and integrity.

Nice-to-haves
