About the position

The Staff Accountant position at Robert Half involves managing financial account reconciliations, recording financial activities, and ensuring accurate communication of financial transactions within the real estate development industry. This role supports the financial operations of the company and offers a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough bank and financial account reconciliations.
  • Monitor and record company-wide cash activity.
  • Create and maintain financial schedules and reports to track and analyze company's financial activity.
  • Prepare and submit journal entries for record keeping.
  • Assist in the lot acquisition process by coordinating with various stakeholders.
  • Calculate and manage payment of property taxes and homeowner assessments dues.
  • Communicate effectively with department and construction personnel to ensure proper recording and communication of financial transactions.
  • Participate in the company's financial statement audit process by responding to audit requests.
  • Analyze overhead costs and maintain records of costs subject to reimbursement.
  • Prepare monthly reports on sales, releases, and closings.

Requirements

  • Possession of a Bachelors / Honours Degree in Accounting
  • Minimum of one year of relevant experience in accounting
  • Proficiency in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Experience with Bank Reconciliations
  • Familiarity with General Ledger management
  • Capable of preparing and recording Journal Entries
  • Experience with Month End Close procedures
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in the use of accounting software and Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
  • Good understanding of business ethics and local laws and regulations.
