About the position

The Staff Accountant at The Nature Conservancy (TNC) plays a vital role in the newly established Journal Entry Shared Services Team, which is part of the Accounting Center of Excellence (ACE). This position is focused on enhancing operational excellence by optimizing processes, systems, and compliance in accounting. The Staff Accountant will provide specialized accounting services, support business units, and ensure adherence to TNC policies and financial standards. This is a fully remote position open to candidates in various regions, with a preference for local nationals in the Asia-Pacific, Africa, and Europe.

Responsibilities

• Review and register journal entries, interpreting transaction results and communicating necessary actions to comply with accounting standards.
• Ensure compliance with TNC policies, financial standards, and legal requirements.
• Reinforce consistency in organizational policies and procedures, providing support related to relevant fields.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
• 3 years of related experience or equivalent combination.
• Experience with basic accounting principles and GAAP.
• Experience with fund accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
• Experience using automated accounting systems.
