About the position

The Staff Accountant plays a critical role in the newly implemented Journal Entry Shared Services Team at The Nature Conservancy (TNC). This position is essential for supporting the organization's goals of operational excellence and financial compliance. The Staff Accountant will provide specialized accounting services, process journal entries, and collaborate with finance staff across business units to ensure adherence to TNC policies and accounting standards. This is a fully remote position open to applicants from various regions, with a focus on local nationals in specific areas.

Responsibilities

• Review and register journal entries, interpreting transaction results and communicating necessary actions to comply with accounting standards.
• Ensure compliance with TNC policies, financial standards, and legal requirements.
• Reinforce consistency in organizational policies and procedures, providing support related to relevant fields.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
• 3 years of related experience or equivalent combination.
• Experience with basic accounting principles and GAAP.
• Experience with fund accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
• Experience using automated accounting systems.
