About the position
We are offering an opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Friendswood, Texas, to join a local private lending company. This role involves managing financial records accurately and timely, ensuring financial compliance, and assisting in various accounting projects. Responsibilities
- Accurately and efficiently process and maintain accounting documents and records
- Ensure regular updates of financial records, including receipts and bank statements
- Execute monthly bank reconciliations and settlements
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable with precision
- Prepare and submit weekly/monthly financial reports in a timely manner
- Assist in the preparation of monthly/yearly financial closings
- Implement and review financial policies for effectiveness
- Maintain an accurate and updated general ledger
- Contribute to other accounting projects as required
- Use accounting software and Microsoft Excel tools like VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables for financial analysis and reporting.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar function
- Proficiency in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Experience with Bank Reconciliations
- Familiarity with General Ledger operations
- Ability to prepare and manage Journal Entries
- Experience with Month End Close procedures
- Proficiency in using VLOOKUP functions in Excel
- Ability to create and manage Pivot Tables in Excel
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and reporting functions.
