The Staff Accountant position at Enterprise Bank & Trust involves performing professional accounting work that includes the compilation, consolidation, and analysis of financial data. Responsibilities

  • Prepare timely and accurate worksheets, financial statements, and reports.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management reports and accompanying schedules, worksheets, and narratives, including Budget vs. Actual variance reports.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports, including cost reports, trial balances, balance sheets, profit-and-loss statements, and statements of sourcing and application of funds.
  • Provide appropriate commentary relating to report items of significance and conduct investigations of the accounts involved.
  • Support organizational needs by understanding roles and responsibilities across functions and collaborating across organizational lines.
  • Document policies, procedures, and workflow for assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading professional publications.
  • Engage in special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Basic understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial processes.
  • Knowledge of Statutory accounting principles.
  • Accounting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a high sense of urgency and ability to work with minimal direct supervision.
  • Accuracy in financial reporting and calculations is required.
  • Ability to work with associates at all levels of the organization and other departments.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with computerized financial reporting systems.
  • Experience with SQL query type software.
  • PeopleSoft general ledger experience.
