About the position

The Staff Accountant at Ennismore plays a crucial role in supervising and coordinating the accounting operations within the hotel. This position ensures accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with various regulations and assists the Controller in managing the hotel's financial health. The role encompasses overseeing payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and maintaining internal controls, while also providing support in budget preparation and financial analysis.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Payroll, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cashier, and Night Audit employees.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs and Federal, State, and local laws and regulations in daily accounting operations.
• Analyze and reconcile all general ledger accounts and bank statements.
• Prepare financial statements and reports for management.
• Assist in the compilation and preparation of the annual budget and forecasts.
• Train and monitor the implementation of financial and cash controls across departments.
• Resolve problems related to accounting systems and equipment.
• Analyze tenant leases and ensure compliance with hotel leases and management contracts.
• Assume responsibilities of the Corporate Controller in their absence.
• Perform special projects and participate in task forces as assigned.

Requirements

• Requires knowledge of all functions performed by subordinate staff reporting to the Corporate Controller.
• Requires advanced knowledge of accounting, finance, and hospitality professions.
• Requires ability to analyze activities or information involving original data manipulation.
• Ability to make decisions guided by established policies and procedures.
• Strong communication skills to provide information and services effectively.
• Must pass a background check.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in hospitality accounting is preferred.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel is essential.
