Firework is seeking a visionary leader to drive the integration of artificial intelligence into e-commerce solutions. This role focuses on designing and developing production applications utilizing advanced Generative AI technologies, collaborating with cross-functional teams to define product requirements, and ensuring ethical AI practices. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AI and a passion for innovation, contributing to a customer-centric approach that enhances online experiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of production applications using Generative AI technologies.
• Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and engineers to define product requirements and success criteria.
• Conduct research and evaluate state-of-the-art AI technologies, frameworks, and tools.
• Design scalable and efficient AI architectures leveraging distributed computing and cloud services.
• Ensure security, privacy, and ethical considerations of AI systems, including data governance and compliance.
• Lead technical discussions, provide mentorship, and foster a culture of learning and innovation.

Requirements

• Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Computer Science, Statistics, or related STEM field.
• 5+ years of experience building large-scale production-grade AI applications.
• 3+ years of experience working on model inferencing and training on GPUs.
• Deep understanding of AI algorithms, including supervised and unsupervised learning, reinforcement learning, neural networks, and deep learning architectures.
• Proficiency in Python, extensive experience with CUDA, and profiling GPU performance and distributed training runs.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across organizations and virtual teams.
• Demonstrated ability to operate in a highly innovative and fast-paced workspace.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in prompt engineering and APIs of popular GenAI platforms (e.g. OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Vertex, MidJourney).
• Experience with lower-level multimedia processing and optimizations.
• Publications and research experience in Generative AI.
