As an Application Engineer, you will serve as a recognized domain expert and authority at the PBU or site. In this role, you will perform a full range of field commercial and technical support functions related to specifying and applying custom products to meet client requirements. You will provide commercial and technical application support to the field sales organization on all aspects of products with minimal direction. Working with a small team of technical employees, you will provide eloquent resolutions to the selling organization requests for product support with a strong emphasis on Basis of Design. Your responsibilities will include providing application training and project management on Air Handling Systems as needed, supporting customer visits (factory tours), and participating in the testing of selection and pricing software. You will partner with internal teams such as manufacturing, engineering, and Customer Service to resolve order issues and work with engineering to develop efficient resolutions to unique product applications. Additionally, you will assist Airside Technical Service with field application issues, develop technical documents, and use sophisticated problem-solving techniques requiring regular use of resourcefulness and creativity. You will review and analyze engineering rules and documents as necessary, recommend cost savings and value engineering alternatives for Air Handling Units and systems, and provide technical direction for other specialists, drafters, or technicians on specific work assignments. Proficiency in preparing, checking, and coordinating the release of documentation to support products is essential, as is the ability to extrapolate ideas into product requirements and apply the philosophy of concurrent engineering with the manufacturing process. You will conduct feasibility studies and systems analysis for new applications while striving for continuous improvement and teamwork in product development and processes.
