About the position

The Staff Application Platform Engineer at Assured plays a crucial role in enhancing developer productivity and ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of the platform. This position involves collaborating with the engineering team to implement best practices in platform engineering, resolving system bottlenecks, and maintaining a focus on securing sensitive data. The engineer will take ownership of projects from inception to deployment, improving platform resilience and efficiency in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Enhance developer productivity by identifying and abstracting common functionalities
• Collaborate with the engineering team to identify, design, develop, and implement best practices for platform engineering
• Ensure the platform is scalable, reliable, and secure
• Identify and resolve bottlenecks that our systems may encounter
• Maintain an unwavering focus on securing sensitive data, and ensure the reliability and performance of the platform
• Monitor, tune, and improve application performance
• Take ownership of projects from inception to deployment, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery
• Develop new services and enhance our existing system to accommodate new products
• Improve platform resilience and efficiency, especially in a fast-paced environment

Requirements

• 8+ years of relevant work experience preferred
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and ideally Node, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, and AWS
• Ability to collaboratively drive a project from design to operation independently
• People skills to solicit org-wide feedback from other engineers to identify the best solutions for all
• Proven skills in building secure, reliable platforms and complex modern web applications
• A firm belief in developing a top-tier platform that enables engineers to deploy swiftly and with assurance
• A relentless focus on securing sensitive data, ensuring platform reliability and performance
