About the position

As a Staff Assistant I in the Inflight group at American Airlines, you will play a crucial role in supporting Flight Attendants and Inflight management employees in their daily operations. This position involves a wide variety of administrative duties that are essential for the smooth functioning of the inflight services. You will be part of a dedicated team that ensures all aspects of inflight operations are managed efficiently, allowing our flight crews to focus on providing excellent service to our passengers. Your responsibilities will include responding to general inquiries from Flight Attendants, managing expense reimbursements, handling mail and FedEx deliveries, and providing technical support for tablets used at Crew Service Centers. You will also assist in coordinating Flight Attendant parking and Crew IDs, order supplies, and maintain the electronic bulletin board in crew rooms. Interaction with Flight Attendants will be a significant part of your role, as you will be working at the Crew Service Center and addressing their queries throughout your shift. Additionally, you will support Operations Coordinators in various aspects of inflight operations and ensure that all office and crew room computers and equipment are functioning properly. In the absence of an Operations Coordinator, you will assume all administrative functions, demonstrating your ability to adapt and take on additional responsibilities as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Responds to Flight Attendants general questions in person and by phone
  • Files expense reimbursement, handles mail and FEDEX
  • Provides Tablet support at the Crew Service Centers
  • Assists in the coordination of Flight Attendant parking and Crew IDs
  • Orders supplies and maintains the e-board in the crew rooms
  • Works at the Crew Service Center and interacts with Flight Attendants throughout the shift by coordinating and resolving Flight Attendant queries
  • Assists the Operations Coordinators with all aspects of Inflight operation
  • Ensures office and crew room computers and equipment are in working condition
  • In the absence of an Operations Coordinator, assumes all administrative functions

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalency
  • 2 years experience with PC, Sabre, DECS, and RES
  • Independent judgement and decision making skills
  • Knowledge of working with contract labor groups
  • Ability to work all shifts, holidays and overtime as required
  • Must fulfill FAA criminal background checks to qualify for unescorted access privileges to airport security identification display areas (SIDA), if applicable
