About the position

The Staff Associate at Young Life is responsible for effectively managing and carrying out Young Life ministry through spiritual development, leadership development, resource development, direct ministry, and ministry support. This role involves engaging with the community, leading teams, and fostering personal and spiritual growth while adhering to the organization's mission and values.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a yearly personal growth plan that fosters a vibrant spiritual life.
  • Seek and maintain relationships within a church community.
  • Actively participate in the spiritual life of the Young Life community.
  • Lead teams and individuals in spiritual development.
  • Recruit and train new leaders to build a leadership team.
  • Model excellence in contact work, club, Campaigners, and camping.
  • Assist in training leaders and developing a yearly ministry strategy.
  • Raise financial support and maintain good donor care practices.
  • Communicate ministry updates to personal donor partners.
  • Network and develop strategic relationships with key adults in the community.
  • Plan and execute area fundraising events under supervision.
  • Engage in all three levels of contact work.
  • Lead a team to plan and conduct Young Life club and Campaigners/discipleship ministry.
  • Implement a summer and school-season camping strategy for ministry.
  • Serve on a summer assignment at a Young Life camp each year.
  • Adhere to Young Life policies and maintain professionalism.
  • Manage finances with stewardship and transparency.
  • Maintain accurate information on kids, leaders, and donors.
  • Provide clear and professional communication to all involved in ministry.
  • Set yearly strategic ministry plans and review them regularly.

Requirements

  • Experience in direct ministry.
  • Proven relational skills with both kids and adults.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Nice-to-haves

  • College degree preferred.
