About the position
Assured is seeking experienced Staff Backend Engineers to enhance its platform, which modernizes insurance claims processing. The role involves owning significant areas of the platform, writing code, architecting infrastructure improvements, and mentoring other engineers. The position is dynamic and collaborative, focusing on creating reliable systems and high-leverage abstractions to improve product velocity.
Responsibilities
- Own large areas of the Assured platform, from business logic to data modeling to infrastructure
- Write lots of code: Conceptualize, build, test, and ship new products and features for our customers
- Architect and implement large-scale infrastructure improvements
- Design and utilize new testing mechanisms and procedures
- Create reliable systems and high-leverage abstractions that enable faster product velocity
- Lead, mentor, and learn from other engineers on our growing team
Requirements
- Minimum 8 years of relevant work experience preferred
- Experience building and scaling high-quality products and codebases from early stages to maturity
- A strong engineering background and history of designing systems

- Specific technology or programming language background is not required; the company is technology-agnostic
