About the position

The Staff Business Data Analyst at Mailchimp plays a crucial role in leading strategic, data-driven decision-making processes. This position involves applying various analytical tools and techniques to conduct in-depth analyses that help understand customer behavior and business trends, as well as predict future outcomes. The analyst will collaborate with multiple stakeholders across the organization to support product requests and provide insights that guide the company's strategic direction.

Responsibilities

  • Support experimentation design to measure the impact of product changes and synthesize results.
  • Coordinate data infrastructure work to ensure appropriate tracking for high-quality analyses.
  • Analyze large behavioral data sets to create actionable recommendations tied to strategic business goals.
  • Develop statistical models to enhance understanding of customer behavior and product performance.
  • Create analytical frameworks to understand customer journeys and engagement with products.
  • Identify and size new product opportunities to strategically grow the business.
  • Calculate the downstream impact of high-value customer actions across Mailchimp and Intuit ecosystems.
  • Guide product analysts and researchers on designing, executing, and analyzing research studies.
  • Build analytical tools and solutions to address product and business needs for better decision-making.
  • Lead complex analytics conversations and communicate with stakeholders to plan analysis approaches.
  • Create new reporting and dashboards to track key marketing metrics across multiple data sources.
  • Conduct targeted analyses on high-priority topics and provide subject matter expertise on product analytics.
  • Develop narratives and recommendations from analyses and present findings to business stakeholders.
  • Partner with stakeholders to define KPIs and build dashboard reporting for data-informed decisions.
  • Build analytics roadmaps to align with Product roadmaps.

Requirements

  • 9+ years of experience in an analytics-focused role, preferably in a technology company.
  • Proven experience analyzing data from various sources and presenting actionable insights.
  • Expertise in SQL and Python/R.
  • Experience with statistical methods such as regression and hypothesis testing.
  • Hands-on experience with data visualization tools like Looker and Tableau.
  • Ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders.
  • Experience with cloud-based data warehouses like Google BigQuery, Redshift, or Snowflake.
  • Experience in an Agile Product Development environment is a plus.
  • Experience mentoring others in User Experience Research practice.
  • Bachelor's or Graduate degree in a quantitative field or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of web analytics and user behavior analysis (e.g., Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics).
  • Experience with distributed computing is a plus.
  • Experience with Causal Inference methods is a big plus.
